Workshop 2016 at St. Michael’s College

Your survey results from the Presidents’ Breakfast indicated an overwhelming preference for “Fundraising” as the topic for Interguild’s upcoming Workshop Event!

Rather than provide a speaker on the generalities of fundraising, this year’s Interguild Executive thought, “Who better than our own membership to present their fundraising successes and expertise in a Carousel Brainstorming format”.

We have provided details below on the format of this year’s Workshop Event and if your school is interested in sharing your strategies for fundraising success, please contact us.

Background:
Carousel Brainstorming is a cooperative learning activity that can be used both to discover and discuss background knowledge prior to tackling new and fresh ideas.  This technique allows for small group discussion, followed by whole-group reflection. While taking part in Carousel Brainstorming, small groups rotate at various “stations” for a designated period of time (20 minutes).  At each station, a facilitator (note taker) and “event expert” activate their prior knowledge of a topic or concept and shares their ideas with their small group.  Each group posts their ideas at each station for all following groups to read.
