About NISPA Board Members
NISPA is led by a team of parents from different Independent Schools.
They organize and execute a variety of events as well as promote membership and participation of Independent Schools Parent Associations.
Domenica Coppa
Holy Trinity School
Domenica Coppa is a proud mom of three wonderful children, Charles, St. Andrew’s College 2015, Celina, Holy Trinity School 2017 and Erica, Holy Trinity School 2022. Domenica holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toronto (1993) and the ARCT (Associate of The Royal Conservatory) diploma (1994). She enjoyed her time as an occasional teacher with experience in all grade levels as well as teaching private piano lessons.
Domenica has been an active volunteer in school communities in many different capacities. She was a member of the SAC Gala committee in 2015. She was the HTS Gala Co-Chair 2009-2011, HTS Parents’ Guild President 2017-2019, HTS Parents’ Guild Past President 2019-2021 and a board member on HTS Board of Governors 2019-2021.
Domenica enjoys reading, playing the piano, exercising and spending time with her family and friends.
Domenica was happy to join NIPSA in 2019 as a member at large and Marketplace Co-Chair. She is looking forward to serving as President for the 2021-2022 school year and is grateful for the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of volunteers.
Tanya Giaquinto
APPLEBY COLLEGE / ST. MICHAEL’S COLLEGE SCHOOL
VICE CHAIR
Tanya Giaquinto, B.A.Sc; B.A., has been at NISPA for approximately 3 years. She has served on different boards including elementary schools councils in different positions. She has run with grade school parents Fun Food Fridays at St. Gregory School along with Wellness Day events for the Grade 7’s and 8’s. She was a registered dietitian for approximately 20 plus years creating and giving presentations on a variety of health and wellness topics in business and school settings. This also included food demonstrations on eating well and nutritional counselling. She retired from the profession to focus on other projects. She currently works with the non-profit organization Grindstone Award Foundation providing grants for girls wishing to play hockey as an outreach volunteer for Ontario. She also is one of the VPs on St. Mike’s council and also helps to support the Food Service Supervisor. Along with the St. Mike’s librarian, the first Book Club for parents was created. Tanya has two children, her daughter Tamara who attended Appleby is now at Boston University in the Questrom business program and Matthew is in Grade 12 attending St. Michael’s College School.
Krystie Robinson-Vincent
PICKERING COLLEGE
PAST CHAIR, COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE CHAIR
Krystie Robinson-Vincent, RN PhD, is the Past President of NISPA and has been involved with NISPA for the past 8 years. She has served as the President (2018-2019, 2020-2021), Vice President (2017-2018), Past President (2019-2020, 2021-2022), as well as Communications and Social Media Coordinator (2014-2021).
Krystie is the Chair of the Pickering College Association and has enjoyed this position for the past two years. Krystie has also chaired the Staff Appreciation Committee at Pickering College and is the Food and Entertainment Coordinator for the Holiday Home Tour. Krystie also sits on the Gala Committee and serves as the Coordinator for the Entertainment Committee. She has chaired the Holiday Home Tour for 3 years and the Spring Luncheon for 2 years. In terms of other volunteer involvement, Krystie currently volunteers to manage both of her son’s Rep Hockey teams.
Krystie is a Professor in the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences. She teaches courses in Statistics, Pathophysiology, Research Methods, and the Life Sciences.
Krystie is married with two son’s aged 12 and 14 who have attended Pickering College since Junior Kindergarten. She loves spending time outdoors — hiking, cycling, swimming, and loves to travel with the favourite destination of the family in Turks and Caicos and England to visit family members.
Susan Ianni
HOLY TRINITY SCHOOL
TREASURER
Susan Ianni has been part of the Holy Trinity School community since 2003. She is the mother of three wonderful daughters-Kristen (2015), Lauren (2018) and Isabel (2021).
She has had the opportunity to get involved in many areas of volunteering including grade parent for multiple years and grade levels, primary grade parent leader, family mentor, library volunteer, scholastic book coordinator, lost and found coordinator and heads the HTS clothing drive for the Philippines. For two years (ending in 2020) she enjoyed being the Director of Finance for the Holy Trinity School Parents’ Guild.
Susan holds a Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and was a Chartered Accountant working in both public and private service for many years.
She enjoys staying active with curling, running and fitness workouts. She also loves spending time with family, photography and travelling.
Susan has been part of the NISPA executive as a Treasure for the past year and is looking forward to continuing in this role and working with a great group of people from different schools.
Jackie Sklenka
CRESCENT SCHOOL
SHOP MANAGERS COMMITTEE CHAIR
Jackie Sklenka is the Co-ordinator of NISPA's Marketplace event (formerly known as Interguild Suppliers Day), undertaking that role since 2017, having initially joined as a Member-at-large in 2016. Jackie, her husband, and family moved to Toronto from Perth, Australia in 2009. Prior to the move, Jackie ran a small public relations agency providing full PR service in the FMCG and events sectors. Her daughter graduated from The York School in 2021 and is a first year student at Queens University. Her son is in Grade 11 at Crescent School, joining the Crescent brotherhood in Grade 7. Jackie was a very active parent at the York School volunteering for many grade specific and school-wide roles including positions on the York Parents Association Executive. She was also a founding member of the York International Parents group and even as a Past Parent continues to be involved in the co-ordination of this social group. Jackie joined the Crescent Parents Association Executive this year as the Upper School Grade Chair (11 & 12) and volunteered for a wide number of Crescent community events.
In addition to Jackie’s two children, she has husband and a mini-Aussie Doodle called Hugo. She loves being outdoors, spending time with her friends, meeting new people, traveling and doing pilates.
Nicol Andrea Domingues
STERLING HALL SCHOOL / BISHOP STRACHAN SCHOOL
SOCIAL MEDIA COMMITTEE CHAIR
Nicol has been a member of NISPA for the last two years and has recently joined the executive to help support the strategic initiatives of the association. Nicol is Past President of the The Sterling Hall School Parents Association and has been on the Parent Executive for the last three years in capacities such as Grade Representative Coordinator, Vice-President and President. She also supports the SHS Buddy Program which helps to welcome and onboard new families into the community. New to The Bishop Strachan School, she will join the BSS Parents Association in a grade representative role.
Nicol is also a SickKids Innovator, a program that engages philanthropists who are passionate about children’s health and well-being. She holds a Specialist Degree in International Relations with a minor in Spanish Literature from University of Toronto — Trinity College. She is married with three young children. In her spare time, she enjoys gathering with family and friends, reading, and travelling.
Jo Hanna
RIDLEY COLLEGE
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE CHAIR
Jo Hanna is a proud mom to 4 children, Joshua (Grade 11), Matthew (Grade 8), David (Grade 5) and Mila (Grade 3), all attending Ridley College.
As entrepreneurs, Jo and her husband Greg, are invested in a number of diverse businesses in South Africa and Canada ranging from Real Estate Development to a Clean Copper Technology business in Canada.
Jo has been a dedicated volunteer at various Soup Kitchen initiatives through her church in South Africa, as well as an organisation called NOAH (Nurturing Orphans of AIDS for Humanity), that provides education, medical assistance and nourishment for underprivileged children affected by the growing AIDS pandemic in Africa.
Jo stepped back from her involvement in business after their move from South Africa to Canada in 2015 to focus on settling the 4 children in their new country.
Jo started volunteering at Ridley College during that time as a committee member of Ridley’s Summer Festival, TigerFest and it grew from there where Jo then served as a New Family Mentor, Class Representative, Fund Raising Committee to eventually the Family Guild Executive Team. Jo has served on the Executive team for 4 years as Vice President, President and Past President.
Jo enjoys movie nights with her family, spontaneous road trips or any form of travel, exploring the beautiful Niagara Region, especially the wineries and of course, coming from South Africa, there is nothing quite like a Safari.
Jo is honoured to serve on the Executive Team of an amazing organization such as NISPA.
Kathy Vucic
APPLEBY COLLEGE
SECRETARY
Kathy has been part of the Appleby College community since 2019. She is the mother of four amazing boys: Oliver (’23), Carter (’24), Spencer (’26) and Hunter (’27).
Over the past few years at Appleby, Kathy has had the opportunity to volunteer in many areas including College Shop, walkathon, welcome home BBQ, drive thru coffee mornings, and act as a new parent buddy. Last year she was the Volunteer Coordinator, and this year will be taking on the College Shop Coordinator role. Before attending Appleby, her boys attended Charles Beaudoin PS and Kathy was a member of Parent Council and organized the Summer BBQ for several years.
Kathy holds an honours BA in English and Political Science from McMaster University. She went on to receive a post grad diploma in Marketing from Sheridan College and worked for several companies in marketing and events before having children. After her fourth son, Kathy went on to become a registered Nutritionist and focuses on using her knowledge every day when planning family meals.
She enjoys being outdoors, from her morning coffee on the porch to running with friends and walking her two dogs. Kathy loves reading and is a member of three book clubs to stay connected with friends, wine and Indigo. She loves spending time with family and travelling whenever and wherever she can.
Kathy is looking forward to continuing as secretary on the NISPA executive for her second year in this role.

The NISPA Board is looking for volunteers that will sit on committees as needed. A committee member does not necessarily sit on the NISPA Board.
