Welcome Back to our NISPA Members
September 2022
Dear NISPA Community,
Welcome back to a new and exciting school year for students and families. The past couple of years have made us stronger showing the resilience of our students, parents and schools. We have found ways to create long lasting “connections” with limited in person interaction. Those connections will be stronger as we continue to meet, volunteer and be present during this school year. Our theme for this year is connection based on Brené Brown’s definition “as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” We will strive to create an environment where you will be seen, heard and valued.
I am really excited to be working as Chair of NISPA with our talented and dedicated board members along with our community of independent schools and their Parent Associations and Guilds. There will be opportunities to meet in person (yeah!) along with our virtual sessions so we can keep sharing our experiences, challenges and successes as PA volunteers. Not only will there be workshops to share information, there will be guest speakers, discussion groups, and opportunities to socialize at our Book Meetings. There will be also polls and surveys to better understand your needs as PA members in your school community.
There are so many opportunities to collaborate with us this year such as hosting an event at your school which includes our online events. Please reach out to Alnar Meghji our Events Chair at events@nispa.ca Please follow us on our social media platforms to get reminders of our events or an opportunity to share your school events. Also, we are now on LinkedIn.
