NISPA Welcome Breakfast — September 22nd 2025

The NISPA community gathered for a welcome breakfast at Ridley College on September 22nd, for an engaging and thought-provoking morning featuring keynote speaker, Dr. Hanna Redpath Kidd, a teacher, registered psychotherapist, and school counsellor with over two decades of experience in developing social, emotional, and physical wellbeing in others.

In her talk on “Solution-Focused Leadership,” Dr. Kidd explored how leaders can cultivate environments that emphasize strengths, resilience, and forward-thinking problem-solving. Drawing from her extensive work in international education and her leadership as Project Leader of Visible Wellbeing at Ridley College—the first Visible Wellbeing School in North America—she shared practical strategies for fostering wellbeing and connection within teams, schools, and organizations.

Dr. Kidd’s insights into positive psychology, mindfulness, and strength-based approaches inspired attendees to reflect on their own leadership styles and how small, intentional shifts can lead to meaningful impact.

The event was both enriching and uplifting, providing an opportunity for NISPA members to connect, share ideas, and continue building a community grounded in growth and wellbeing. Members had an opportunity to exchange ideas, and strengthen our shared commitment to professional growth and community impact.

We had the members from the following schools in attendance:

  • St. Andrew’s College
  • St. Anne’s School
  • Holy Trinity School
  • Country Day School
  • Appleby College
  • Pickering College
  • St. John’s-Kilmarnock School
  • Hillfield Strathallan College
