AI and the Future of Education

NISPA Panel Discussion – Wednesday, January 21 2026

More than 60 NISPA members gathered for a timely and insightful virtual event exploring AI and the Future of Education, featuring four noteable speakers who shared perspectives from K–12 and postsecondary contexts.

Natalie Vera, Director of Educational Technology and Innovation at Crescent School, presented Crescent’s data-driven AI Framework, highlighting how AI is intentionally embedded across the curriculum from Grades 1–12 to support learning, decision-making, and innovation.

Dr. Sarah Morrison, Assistant Head, Innovation and Research, and Dr. Carlos Heleno, Assistant Head, Academics at Appleby College, shared how Appleby has integrated AI into its academic programming, emphasizing thoughtful implementation.

Bringing a postsecondary lens, Dr. Krystie Robinson-Vincent, Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences and a Pickering College parent, discussed the experiences and challenges of AI use among university students, raising important considerations around skill development and responsible use.

Together, the speakers offered a well-rounded and practical exploration of how AI is shaping education today and what lies ahead. Thank you to our speakers and members who joined the conversation and contributed to a dynamic and forward-looking discussion. We look forward to continuing these important conversations in future NISPA events.
